Q. Does BizFilings provide the Mail Forwarding Service itself?

A. BizFilings has partnered with Easy Corp Ltd. to provide Mail Forwarding Service in Delaware and Forward Nevada to provide Mail Forwarding Service in Nevada. Both providers are commercial mail receiving agencies. Easy Corp Ltd. has been providing Mail Forwarding Service in Delaware for 10 years. Forward Nevada has been providing Mail Forwarding Service in Nevada for 15 years. We believe these companies will provide the high-quality Mail Forwarding Service BizFilings’ customers deserve.

For customers who add Mail Forwarding Service to a business formation order for the State of Delaware or the State of Nevada, you will initiate the order process and pay the initial 12-month Mail Forwarding Service fee to BizFilings. You will then complete the order process, provide the necessary documentation, and keep a credit card on file with the applicable Mail Forwarding Service provider.

Q. If BizFilings is my registered agent, do I need Mail Forwarding Service?

A. BizFilings’ Registered Agent Service includes the receipt and forwarding of official documents and tax notices received for your company from the Secretary of State, Department of State, Department of Revenue, or other official state agencies. It does not include the receipt and forwarding of personal or commercial mail.

If you would like an address to list as your business address for receipt of personal and commercial mail, you will need to subscribe to Mail Forwarding Service.

Q. What information is required?

A. The United States Postal Service (USPS) has strict requirements that it imposes on legitimate mail receiving agencies and the customers who utilize Mail Forwarding Service. Each customer must complete and sign USPS Form 1583 (Application for Delivery of Mail Through Agent) and must provide two valid forms of identification, one of which must include a picture. Additionally, each of BizFilings’ Mail Forwarding Service providers has a service agreement Mail Forwarding Service customers must sign.

Q. How long does the process take?

A. Once you have completed the necessary USPS Form 1583, provided two valid forms of identification, and signed the Mail Forwarding Service provider’s service agreement, the process typically takes 2-3 business days before you can begin receiving mail at the designated Mail Forwarding Service address.

Once you complete the order process with the Mail Forwarding Service provider, the provider will provide you with all the necessary information you need to begin to use your mail forwarding address.

Q. What will my mail forwarding address be?

A. For Delaware, the address will be a physical street address located in Wilmington, DE. For Nevada, the address will be a physical street address located in Las Vegas, NV. In both states a unique box or suite number will be assigned to your company and will be part of the address.

Q. Are there limits on how much mail I can receive?

A. No, our Mail Forwarding Service providers do not place limits on the number of pieces of mail you can receive. There are limits on the size of mail you can receive, however. For Delaware the weight of letters should not exceed 250 grams (approximately 8.8 ounces). For both Delaware and Nevada, only small packages are accepted.

Q. What if I need to change my address or need my mail held?

A. If the address you have on record with the Mail Forwarding Service provider changes, notify the provider directly so that your contact information can be changed in the provider’s system. Likewise, if you need your mail held for a certain period of time, contact the provider directly in order to make the appropriate hold arrangements.
